FIRE SAFETY SURVEYS

AND INSPECTIONS

LB Fire Protection provides independent surveys and inspections which can help contractors, building owners and operators to comply with their legal duties for fire safety. Our assessments can cover normal operations, refurbishments or change of use, maintenance and new project proposals.

Our work is non-intrusive, meaning that the fabric of your building will not be disturbed. We may require access to void areas such as roof spaces and above false ceilings in order to carry out the surveys and inspections.

Following the comprehensive survey, we produce a detailed report on the type and condition of the passive fire systems in your building or premises. We also provide recommendations for works needed to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and, where required, for compliance with British Standards and current best practice.

Fire Compartmentation

Non-intrusive surveys of the fire compartmentation and passive fire protection within your building.

Review of the findings against statutory requirements and BS 9999 “Fire safety in the design management and use of buildings – code of practice”.

Reporting of deficiencies and recommendations for remedial works for passive fire protection and fire compartmentation.

Fire Door Sets

We can inspect fire door sets within your building and provide a condition survey report with recommendations for remedial works.

We also provide specifications for replacement and new fire door sets complying with UKAS accredited certification bodies.

Fire Risk Assessments

We can carry out a comprehensive and bespoke fire safety risk assessment for your premises, aligned with the PAS 79 “Code of Practice for Premises Other than Housing”, with the objective of complying with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, and all other relevant statutory requirements.

As part of the fire risk assessment your business will be provided with a clear action plan which will enable you to meet your responsibilities for fire safety.

We also carry out Fire Risk Appraisals of External Walls (FRAEW) in accordance with the code PAS 9980.
